Areas of Expertise

I see therapy as an act of mutually engaged exploration that can help you make transformative change on your terms.

You may be seeking support as you navigate through challenging life transitions, manage interpersonal relationship issues, cope with trauma, or experience feelings of overwhelm, sadness, or confusion that disrupt your daily life.

I’ll work collaboratively with you in both individual and/or group therapy to explore your (unfiltered) thoughts and feelings and get to the root of long-standing problems, helping you feel more emotionally resilient and developing deeper insight.

Typical areas of exploration in my practice include:

  • coping with depression or other mood disorders

  • anxiety, worry, and panic attacks

  • building self-esteem and confidence

  • career transitions and concerns

  • dating and intimacy issues

  • feeling overburdened in your relationships

  • addressing complicated family dynamics

  • supporting identity exploration, development, and expression

  • LGBTQIA+ issues

  • assisting with stress, crisis, trauma, and life transitions

  • the creative process and overcoming creative blocks

  • navigating separation and individuation from your family of origin & establishing your personal value framework

  • difficulty expressing emotions, such as anger

  • combating persistent feelings of alienation, isolation, or loneliness

  • body image and eating issues

  • personal and professional growth

  • couples & family therapy

Individual Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis

I provide in-person individual treatment to adults and adolescents in New York who might be experiencing challenges related to anxiety and depression, self esteem issues, identity confusion, high achievement & loss of meaning, depression, trauma, stress, gender identity, unresolved memories from the past, complex relationships, and compulsive behavior. Sessions are 45 minutes and I usually see clients 1-3x per week. There is the option to schedule sessions either in-person (NYC only). I am also licensed in Connecticut and Massachusetts and will work with individuals who live in these states over secure video or phone.

Group Psychotherapy

Interpersonal process groups can be a great complement to the work that is done together in individual therapy. Group presents a unique opportunity for members to see their impact on likeminded peers in real time, experiment with new ways of interacting and expressing themselves, and examine behaviors that might be preventing the growth of connection and intimacy in their life, both in and out of the room. Group is a good fit for those feeling dissatisfied in their interpersonal relationships and who are open to new forms of connection, those seeking to better understand themselves and gain self knowledge, and those willing to work through relational stumbling blocks and blindspots with others in a compassionate space designed to promote personal growth. Group sessions are 90 minutes and occur once per week. I am currently recruiting members for a once a week Wednesday evening process group. Please reach out for more information.

Clinical Supervision & Case Consultation

I enjoy supporting early-career licensed mental health professionals in navigating formulating their professional identity and managing the challenges that can arise in working in an agency setting or clinic, group practice, or private practice setting. I am available for ongoing individual clinical supervision or professional consultation and case conceptualization.
